Took my little guy to the smaller playground at bonita cove.. Low tide so I pumped some shrimp. Put one out and within a minute, the mini reels up a double? Wtf? Sandy ate the ghostie, and a spottie took on the quarter oz slider? What? A fish or bite a cast, all dinks, for an hour or so, caught my first bean in a LONG time and one decent croaker (cpr, already had the bean). Ended with maybe 25 bass, had any kid on the beach reeling them in when I stuck one. Crazy good bite at bonita, fish crashing everywhere as the sun went down...

Next week will have sunset high tides. I already bought a couple pounds of shrimp for it. I'm sure I will be out there a couple of times.

Those beans are fantastic... I think I prefer them over corvina (I only bought the Baja corvina from the fishmonger lol). . .

Great job as always, I've never caught a Bean before if you don't have Ghosts what would be a good bait, my wife would like me bring food home from fishing sometime?

Top food fish baits... Tuna/sand crabs, ghost shrimp, mussel, pismo/razor clam, smelt, grunion, market shrimp, innkeeper/sand/pile worms.. Use as fresh as possible, live whenever you can.. A small strip of fresh mackerel can be good as well. The key seems to be small hooks, light line and small weights.
