El Capitan Reservoir Fish Report – 1/8/17

  • The 16 anglers checked at El Capitan Reservoir this last week reported catching 46 largemouth bass.

    Boat launch conditions are good with the lake sitting 84.56 feet below spill level currently. Recent rains have done little to affect the water level, raising it just a few inches over the last week.

    The water temperature is reported to be about 63°F at the surface by lake staff.

    El Capitan is operating on its winter schedule right now which means fishing is available Friday through Tuesday. Rental boats are available, call the concession at (619)668-2770 for availability.
