    Catches of the Week

Patsy and Richard Bates were fishing in Hermit Cove early Sunday morning and caught 5 catfish in just over 2 hours! They were using shrimp as bait.

Larry reeled in catfish from the T-dock early on Friday morning. He also caught two catfish on Saturday in Hermit Cove weighing 5 and 6 lbs.

    Trout Fishing Tips

Mini jigs are an all purpose lure, working effectively on trout, bass, crappie, and bluegill. For Lake Jennings, a typical setup for trout is 4 lbs. test with a 1/16 oz. jig. If you have trouble casting such a light jig, attached a bobber 5-6 ft. above the jig.

Try a variety of methods; shaking or vertical jigging to get the fish to strike. Sometimes the rod only needs to be raised 2 inches, other times up to 2 feet. Popular jig colors for trout season are pink, orange, and chartreuse. All purpose colors are pearl and gray.
