Lake Wohlford Fish Report – 1/6/17

  • The trout bite has been slow to turn on despite Wednesday’s double plant. The rains seem to have put a damper on the bite, but some limits are being taken although they are few and far between. Boaters seem to be outperforming shore fisherman, at present.

Dave Pierson of Garden Grove had big fish of the week with a 10.75# rainbow caught using a smoking jigz in Boat Dock Cove. Top baits are powerbait (rainbow or green), or inflated nightcrawlers dipped in garlic sauce.

Largemouth Bass can be found around structure.  The re-appearance of trout in the lake makes this an excellent time for swim-baits.
