The Lakes first nightfishing event took place last Thursday with 98 anglers in attendance. The bite was a little slow, but anglers still enjoyed fishing the lakes until 11:30 pm.

No changes in the trout department. Trolling continues to be good for trout  between the boat dock and the fishing float. The Cactus Patch and  over in Sentry Cove are producing trout from a boat using Power Bait or Gulp.  The bass are in transition.  The majority of the bass have moved back away from shore into 15 to 25 ft. of water. Swimbaits have been effective on those fish.  Dropshotting worms in the brush are still nailing guardian males. The redears are spawning.  Channel cats are close to shore and under the trees.

The hot bite for trout will continue while inventories remain high. Cats and red ears are being caught on the bank. Buzzbaits drug off the bank produced some nice reaction bites from the bass.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings:  We thought that the hot days would cool the trout bite; surprisingly it didn’t . Trolling for trout is good between the boat dock and the fishing float. The Cactus Patch from a boat using Power Bait or Gulp  The bass are in the brush and tules. Dropshotting worms in the brush are best. Some redears are spawning but the main run has yet to occur.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings:  Trolling for trout has taken an upswing. They have moved out past casting distance from shore and are best found  between the boat dock, fishing float and buoyline triangle. Bright colored Needlefish and Rapalas are the ticket. The bass are in the brush and tules. Dropshotting worms in the brush are best.
