Lake Jennings Fish Report: 6/8/08 - 6/15/08 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ranger, Hugh Marx

Best Trout Spots: middle of the lake.

Best Trout Lures / Bait: Nightcrawlers drifted about 40 to 80 feet down.

Best Cat Spots: The bird trees, Shadow and Eagle Coves and anywhere there is brush.

Best Cat Bait: Nightcrawlers are really working well or mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank. Daylight finds them in 20 to 30 ft. off the points chasing shad.

Best Bass Lures /bait: 16” Texas worms, frogs, Pop R’s. Water Temp. 70 to 72 degrees

Notables:

  • Fri., Ondre Piernas, 10-4 channel cat, bird trees, bonita.

Prognosis: Not to pat myself on the back but this prognosis was right on target and I expect that this lack of pattern will hold. All the fish seem to be scattered. The worst strategy seems to be sitting in one spot. Move when you are not catching fish and move right after you catch fish.

Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cats at 1 PM on Sunday. For more info: Hugh Marx (619) 443-2510 / 390-1300
