BASS:

• Steve Whyte of El Cajon landed a 3 lb. Bass at his lakefront campsite on lake 6. Steve also caught a 14 lb. 3 oz. Catfish. Both were caught using inflated nightcrawlers.

CATFISH: The Lakes first nightfishing event took place last Thursday with 98 anglers in attendance. The bite was a little slow, but anglers still enjoyed fishing the lakes until 11:30 pm.

• Isaac Flores of Chula Vista caught a 4 lb. 8 oz. Catfish out of lake 2 on nightcrawlers.
• Jay Fuentes of San Diego caught a 3 lb. Catfish out of lake 4.
• Will Turner of Lakeside landed a 4 lb. 3 oz. Catfish out of lake 4 on mackerel.

Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)

** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam’s Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

Fishing Permit Fees

• Adult (ages 16 and over) $8.00 per day
• Junior (ages 7 to 15) $5.00 per day
• Second fishing pole stamp $3.00
• *One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
