Plenty of trout are still being taken, but the action has slowed some.  Most trout being caught are pulled in using powerbait and crawlers. Crappie bite is on.  Most caught using jigs, run through the rainbow until you find one that works.

Read more...A couple of 6 plus pound rainbows headlined the fish report this week at Lake Morena. The largest of the week was nearly 9.5 pounds and caught by Ed Schult.

Read more...Trout fishing is beginning to heat up, with a recent plant of Mt. Lassen rainbows including 1,000 pounds of beautiful Lightning Trout. Action for other species remains slow, however there are signs that the bass are beginning to get more active.

Overall fishing at Morena is slow, however there are plenty of trout in the lake ready for the taking. Several anglers have reported very good trout fishing.

The trout bite continues to be solid with fish up to almost 8 pounds reported. Smaller bass are still showing, but not much of anything else.
