Mt. Lassen will be stocking 1,200 lbs of there finest rainbow trout.
The cold front over the weekend has slowed the action down. The reward
is cooling water temps will invigorate the trout this coming week. The
stocking last week was from Jess Ranch and theses trout were ready to
fight right out of truck. Crappie are plentiful, taking tube jigs below
a bobber. The shore line action has been good using power bait and
inflated night crawlers with boats experiencing the same action with
bait. The Bass are up in the shallows for the spawn!!

The cold weather dampened the enthusiasm of the fish and the anglers
that pursued them. Trout are being caught in 30 ft. of water by
drifting crawlers or Power Bait out in the middle of the lake. Bassin’
is fair with dropshotting small worms working best. The aerator is on
and that should drive the shad to the surface. Cats are the main bill
of fare. Hermit Cove was the bright spot for the week. During the day
you want to move your bait frequently almost like you would fishing a
plastic worm. We are gearing up for our Family Day. Please see the next
page for more details.
