Branchfield 10.3 05182008.JPGEven though fishing is still slow a lot of the catches are big trout. There are a lot of fish in the Lake from the last stock as evidenced by the big ones landed again this week. Best bait is Night Crawlers and best lures are Rapalas. The catfish bite is good along the Log Boom. The bass bite is good with bass up to 8 pounds reported. The water is now at 62 degrees. The bluegill bite is still slow.

Clow 8.7 05042008.JPGBig Trout are still being brought in! The fishing was slow this week. There are a lot of fish in the Lake from the last stock. The water is starting to clear up. Best bait is Night Crawlers and best lures are Rapalas. The catfish bite is good along the Log Boom. The bass bite is improving with a lot of bass moving around along the shorelines. The water is now at 69 degrees. The bluegill bite is still slow.

There are a lot of fish in the Lake from the last stock but hotter and windy weather has slowed the catch. The shoreline is open for fishing in the curtain area. The water is starting to clear up. Best bait is Night Crawlers and best lures are Rapalas. The catfish bite is good along the Log Boom. The bass bite is improving with a lot of bass moving around along the shorelines. The water is now at 69 degrees. The bluegill bite is still slow.

The shoreline is open for fishing in the curtain area. The water is starting to clear up. Best bait is Night Crawlers and best lures are Rapalas. The catfish bite is good along the Log Boom. The bass bite is improving with a lot of bass moving around along the shorelines. The water is now at 65 degrees. The bluegill bite is still slow.

Over 600 anglers fished the annual Lake Poway Open Trout Derby on Saturday and Sunday, April 12th and 13th, 2008. A hot, windy weekend and a stock of over 4900 pounds of trout including trophy size up to 16 pounds provided a challenge for everyone.
