Ramona's Lake Sutherland proved to provide bass anglers the best bite of the City Lakes. 100 anglers were checked, who reported a total of 258 bass caught. The largest bass reported was 5 pounds at Sutherland. The largest overall fish caught this week was a 15.55 pound blue cat, also caught at Sutherland. Del Lambert of Ramona caught the fish on mackeral.

Rising water levels from recent rain have improved launching conditions at several of the City Lake Reservoirs, but probably have adversely affected the fishing. Notable catches from the past week include a 49.7 pound Blue Catfish from San Vicente caught by John Harwell of Encinitas. The largest bass of the week came during the Aim Marine Sunday Series tournament at San Vicente. Danny Price caught a 10.55 pound largemouth in the North Bay area of San Vicente on the 13th on a carolina rig.
