El Capitan

123 anglers checked. 135 bass, 21 crappie, 5 channel catfish, and 4 blue catfish reported caught. Jim Bowers of San Diego caught a 9.50 largemouth bass on a plastic worm. Launching conditions are excellent, water temp is listed at 70 degrees. 

Miramar

247 anglers checked. 12 bass, 125 rainbow trout, and 3 channel catfish reported caught. No notable catches made. Launching is considered goo. Water temp is 57 degrees. 

Murray

86 anglers checked. 8 bass, 52 rainbow trout reported caught. No notable catches made.  Launching conditions are excellent. Water temp is 61 degrees.

Lower Otay

161 anglers checked. 135 bas, 30 crappie, 12 rainbow trout, 19 channel catfish, and 2 blue catfish reported. Notable catches included the following;

  • Kevin Nakada caught and released a 10.05 pound largemouth bass in Harvey Arm on March 19th
  • Washington James of Long Beach caught three channel catfish weighing 33.15 pounds, the largest going 12.65 pounds on at the buoy line on March 22nd
  • Antoine Hamilton caught a 6.15 pound largemouth in Otay arm on March 23rd

Launch conditions are excellent, water temp is 63 degrees.

Upper Otay

30 anglers checked. 33 bass reported caught and released. The largest reported was 4.75 pounds. Water temp is 64 degrees. 

San Vicente

126 anglers checked. 147 bass, 2 bluegill, 1 redear sunfish, 1 crappie, 6 channel catfish, and 1 blue catfish reported caught. No notable catches. Launching conditions are good. Water temp is 62 degrees. 

Sutherland

100 anglers checked. 258 bass, 7 bluegill, 15 channel catfish, 1 blue catfish reported caught. Notable catches included;

  • Bob Gillespie, Tony Macedo, and Ernie Klemm teamed up to catch 10 channel catfish weighing a total of 26.85 pounds on mackeral
  • Del Lambert of Ramona caught a 15.55 pound blue catfish on mackeral
  • Darren Lawrence from Nevada caught 5 largemouth bass weighing 15.14 pounds, with the largest being 3.95 pounds
Launching conditions are poor, with the ramp being real shallow right now. The water temp is 64 degrees.
