BASS: The Bass bite is steadily improving with the water temperature around 68. Mostly smaller males close to shore. Try swim baits and crank baits parallel to the shoreline about 5 ft. out.

CATFISH: First stock of the season to arrive Friday, April 4th. 1,000 lbs. will be split between lakes 3 and 4. 

Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)

** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

Fishing Permit Fees

• Adult (ages 16 and over) $8.00 per day
• Junior (ages 7 to 15) $5.00 per day
• Second fishing pole stamp $3.00

*One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
