Catfish action at Santee Lakes is good, with fish over 10 lbs being caught.
BASS:
Catch and Release ONLY and shiners are NOT permitted.
CATFISH:
- Brian Juhnke of San Diego caught a 10 lb. 2 oz. Catfish out of lake 3 on chicken liver. This was the largest out of the 5 Catfish Brian caught.
- Ma Khammao caught his limit of Catfish out of lake 3 on mealworms.
- Anthony Tran of Del Cerro caught his limit of Catfish with a total weight of 9 lbs. All were taken on mealworms.
- Next nightfishing event will take place on June 5th.
Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)
** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam’s Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.
Fishing Permit Fees
- Adult (ages 16 and over) $8.00 per day
- Junior (ages 7 to 15) $5.00 per day
- Second fishing pole stamp $3.00
- *One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
