FISH REPORT
WEEK OF: July 28, 2008
BASS:
The Bass bite is good with water temps around 86 degrees. Try plastics around the corners of the lakes and reeds. Best spot this week was south lake 4 near the Lion’s fishing pier.
CATFISH:
We are well into our Catfish summer stocking schedule. A total of 23,000 lbs. of Catfish will be stocked this season.
Largest Channel Catfish so far this summer tipped the scales at 27 lbs. 7 oz.
- Johnathan Taing age 14 from San Diego caught his limit of Catfish out of lake 3 on shrimp.
Next nightfishing event will be held on August 14th. 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
BLUEGILL:
The Bluegill population is thriving. Try redworms or mealworms around the fishing docks.
Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)
** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam’s Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.
Fishing Permit Fees
- Adult (ages 16 and over) $8.00 per day
- Junior (ages 7 to 15) $5.00 per day
- Second fishing pole stamp $3.00
- *One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
