The Aim Marine Sunday Series is the only team tournament series in San Diego to run tournaments on Sunday. But thats not the only difference between this series and the others.
The Sunday Series offers incentives for anglers to pair up with partners they otherwise may not fish with. There are seperate prize pools for teams made up of an adult and child, and also for man and woman teams.
This series also features a very competitive payback, which is guaranteed. New for 2008, teams will also be fishing for year-end Aim Marine gift certificates awarded to the top 5 overall teams in the points. The Anglers of the Year will receive a $5,000 gift certificate to spend at Aim Marine!

After taking a break from team tournament fishing to finish building his new home, Mike Long of Ramona has returned with a vengeance. Mike caught a 5 fish limit at El Capitan in the Aim Marine Sunday Series event that weighed 14.25 pounds, and earned him his fourth consecutive team tournament win. He has won two American Bass Association tournaments, and with his partner John Kerr, won the last WON Bass event in that time period.

John and Jordan Kerr demolished the Aim Marine Sunday Series field with 21.28 pounds, anchored by the largest bass of the tournament, a beautiful 10.41 pound female. That one fish was enough to beat all but 1 other team. Mike Long, fishing solo, was second with 12.61 pounds. Both of these teams caught their fish by sight-fishing them in shallow water. Spotty rain flurries made sight-fishing difficult for most teams, but there is no one better in San Diego than John Kerr.

Aim Marine Sunday Series

Scott McIntosh and Randy Lewis outdistanced a field of 32 teams in the first of five Aim Marine Sunday Series tournaments in 2008. They had 14.32 pounds made up of a five fish limit with a kicker fish of 3.46 pounds. Their near 3 pound average was impressive given the Santa Ana conditions that anglers faced on Sunday. They reported catching their fish on jigs on a large point on the island. However the most impressive catch of the tournament was made by Danny Price, fishing with Joe Aldridge. Danny caught the big bass of the tournament, weighing a massive 10.55 pounds. That fish alone was enough to beat all but 4 other teams. They added two more fish to their bag, and fell less than a pound short of taking the win, and earning a $2,000 Skeeter Real Money bonus check. Two father/son teams comprised the next two teams, with Mike and Kevin Martin finishing in third, and 2007 Anglers of the Year John and Jordan Kerr in fourth.
