Brian Johnson grabbed his second team tournament victory in as many weeks, this time partnered with brother Aaron. Brian also won last week's National Bass West tournament at San Vicente with a similar weight.

Winning in similar fashion, Brian and Aaron used a combination of jigs, carolina rigs, and drop shots in North Bay to take home the win. The Johnson brothers also had the largest fish of the contest, weighing in at an impressive winter weight at 6.50 pounds. Throw in nearly 8 pounds, comprised by their four other keepers and they bagged 14.33 pounds, nearly a pound more than anyone else. They were awarded $4,135 for first place and the big bass of the tournament.

In second place, also benefitting from a large fish (second biggest of the tournament) was seasoned vet Michael McLernon and partner James Fenney. Their limit weighed 13.46 pounds, anchored by a 6.34 pound kicker and earned them $1,125.

In third place was Scott McIntosh and Randy Lewis with 12.97 pounds caught throwing jigs.

The next WON Bass San Diego region tournament is scheduled for February 9th at El Capitan.

WON Bass also introduced their title boat sponsor for the upcoming season, Nitro Boats and the Tracker Marine group. Nitro will provide WON Bass with 9 boats in all, handed out to winners of their Pro/Am tournaments, the Western Classic, US Open, and Tri-States Championships.
