The second stop for the 2008 San Diego Saltwater Bass Showdown was
Oceanside Harbor this past Saturday May 10, 2008. 21 teams from both
San Diego and Orange County fished the event with many teams coming out
from the Saltwater Bass Anglers circuit using the event for a tune-up
for their tournament the following weekend.

Buckalew and Delong win season's first Saltwater Bass Showdown |

Tom Buckalew and Brett DeLong (Team Quantum) took first place honors in the initial edition for the 2008 San Diego Saltwater Bass Showdown Series Saturday afternoon on Mission Bay. The teams' five spotted bay bass limit weighed in at 10.38 pounds besting the field of 32 boater and kayak teams. Along with the second largest bass caught in the tournament award (2.71 pounds) this team took home a hefty $575 for their efforts. Most of the team's fish were caught on chartreuse/white and orange/brown spinnerbaits.

The Saltwater Bass Showdown announces 2008 schedule |

John Cassidy, tournament director for the San Diego Saltwater Bass Showdown series has announced his schedule for the 2008 season. The first tournament of the season is scheduled for April 19th at Mission Bay, and concludes with the series fish-off on July 27th in the San Diego Bay.

 The 2007 Holiday Bay Classic (second annual) is in the books, recorded as a success. Nearly 30 teams entered the boater division of the tournament, and another 22 anglers entered the kayak division of the Holiday Bay Classic.
