About Us
Written by Kellen Ellis

SDFish.com was founded in 1996 with the purpose of providing San Diego anglers a place to take advantage of the growing popularity of the internet. Lacking a presence on the world wide web, founder Paul Miller of Oceanside, CA started a basic, informative fishing website. Paul started by providing a forum, using the knowledge of site visitors as an asset to draw more and more visitors. The growth of SDFish, as it is affectionately called by its current members, was unforeseen. The site evolved into a catalyst of the San Diego fishing community, as Paul added more and more features to the website. Those included lake info pagse, photo galleries, fishing directories, and much more.

What started as a small group of savvy internet and fishing users, has grown to the standard in San Diego for fishing info. The site base has grown to over 3,000 active registered members, and based on analysis of daily hits, the active registered users represent approximately 5 percent of the total active reader base.

In January of 2006, in the 10th year of the websites existence, Paul Miller passed the website onto myself. I was an active user on the forums for seven of the website's first 10 years, and served as one of the site's moderators for two years.

Today, SDFish has gone through yet another transition, beginning in 2008 the site has undergone one of the biggest makeovers so far. This latest update brought forth a greater sense of community, granting users further membership based features outside of the message forum. SDFish.com continues to grow, fueled by the energy and excitement that San Diego anglers have for fishing.
