Our second 1000 lbs. of Sierra Bows will be swimming in the lake for
Friday. They will be swimming with the 950 lbs of rainbows that were
not caught this weekend. It was a very disappointing start for trout
season. However it was not unusual based upon review of past years. The
bass are still in 15’ to 25’ water and still want 5” Senkos in the
natural colors. Cats are still biting well but you have to get your
bait into 80’ to 100’ ft of water.
Best Trout Spots: None
Best Trout Lures / Bait: None yet but use scent!!!
Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline and Hermit Cove buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers, mackeral and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Target the bank, fish downhill with creature type baits.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Senkos
Water Temp. 73 degrees on surface.
Notables: No fish over 3lbs. reported or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: Our second trout plant is on schedule for Thurs. October 29th . We will stock 1000lbs. every week for the next 223 weeks. Don’t let the cool water fool you into thinking that you can’t catch cats. There is no better time than right now to fill a limit. We are bringing back our twilight boat rentals. Motorboats are $ 20.00 for the last 3 hours that we are open. So you can get a boat at 3:30 PM for $ 20.00.
