Launch Conditions: PRIVATE WATER CRAFTS ARE CURRENTLY BANNED
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a
temporary ban on private water craft and private equipment that could have been
exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment now includes private boats, canoes,
kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that
contact the water.
Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, shrimp, chicken liver, and night
crawlers near the South Shore Rockpile and the east end of Wohlford.
Bass action has slowed a bit lately. The first 2 of 5 new Bass type rental boats
should be available to rent at Lake Wohlford starting this Saturday, 10/25/08. They
sport foot-controlled 40# thrust trolling motors, 2 swivel seats, and a live well.
The Crappie have moved into deeper waters.
Trout action is over for this season as Wohlford waters are too warm for year-round
Trout survival. Trout will be restocked on 12/13/08.
