The sixth and final Kevin Mineo Memorial Night Tournament will take place this Saturday night at El Capitan. It is not too late to participate in the fun, teams can sign up with tournament director Tim Witucky at the lake prior to the start of the tournament. You do not need to be a member of a bass club to fish these events, which help raise money to maintain the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame exhibit at the San Diego Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.
John Fiehler and Rod Blunt won the previous event on September 5th, also at El Capitan with a 3 fish limit weighing over 10 pounds.
In addition to the tournament purse, bragging rights for the overall points champions for the series are technically still up for grabs. The team of Wingo and Dawson hold a commanding 19 point lead over second place Lamberson and Green heading into the finale.
San Diego's largest bass club, San Diego Bassmasters will host the tournament, providing free food and refreshments for tournament teams preceding the tournament.
For more information on the Kevin Mineo Memorial Night Tournaments you can contact Tim Witucky at (858)270-6839. You can also click here to download and print the tournament's entry form.
