Trout fishing has been decent with some nice-sized Rainbows being caught. Trout
from this new hatchery behave more like wild Trout and are quite different from
normal hatchery fish. They are harder to catch, prefer live or moving bait, and if
they do feed on still baits they gentle mouth it. They are more muscular, and when
you catch one you are in for a fight!

Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, shrimp, chicken liver, and night
crawlers near the South Shore Rockpile and in Oakvale Cove.

Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, shrimp, chicken liver, and night
crawlers near the South Shore Rockpile and the east end of Wohlford. Bob Steilen
of Carlsbad landed a 6#0 Channel Cat that attacked cut mackerel at the West Buoy
Line. Young Wohlford regular, Hayden Heck of Valley Center, weighed in a 1#13
Catfish that hit a night crawler off Senior Shoreline.
Bass action has slowed a bit lately.

Bass action has slowed a bit lately. Chris Linker of Valley Center caught a 4#12
bass using crank bait at Bass Point Saturday afternoon.

Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, shrimp, chicken liver, and night
crawlers near the South Shore Rockpile and the east end of Wohlford. Bass action has slowed a bit lately. The first 2 of 5 new Bass type rental boats
should be available to rent at Lake Wohlford starting this Saturday, 10/25/08. They
sport foot-controlled 40# thrust trolling motors, 2 swivel seats, and a live well.
