The Bass bite continues to be hitting strong. This may be the year for a
new lake record. Current lake record for Bass is 13 lbs. 8 oz.
Bass Tournament April 24th. This will be an evening tournament ending
at 11 pm. 60 anglers max. so if your interested sign up now. To
register stop by the Park Office or call Mac Schroeder at 619 258-4788.

Due to unforeseen issues the Lakes did not receive the Seasons last
Trout stock.
12,000 lbs. of Trout have been stocked into the Lakes since November
including 70 tagged Trout. 11 tagged Trout have not been accounted for
and could still be swimming in the Lakes. The Trout bite remains strong
in the AM hours before the day heats up. Water temp is a chilly 59
degrees.

The Trout bite is steady in lakes 2, 3 and 4. Try rainbow powerbait and
nightcrawlers. Use a short leader 6 to 8 inches and 2 or 4 lb. test
line. Tagged fish are still swimming in the lakes worth cash and
prizes. Catch a Trout 5 lbs. or larger and get entered into the April
1st drawing for the Vizio Flat Screen TV.
The last Trout stock for the Season will arrive this week. 1,000 lbs.
of Sierra Rainbows will be split between lakes 3 and 4.

Lakes 2, 3 and 4 were stocked last week. 10,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout
has been stocked since November. Largest Trout so far this Season
weighed in at 10 lbs. 9 oz. 15 tags are still swimming in the lakes.
Rod and Reel combos, free camping trips, mongoose bicycle and CASH
prizes are waiting to be claimed.
Could you use a Vizio flat screen TV? Catch a Trout 5 lbs. or larger and
get entered into the April 1st drawing.
Santee Lakes is open for fishing everyday. 8:00 am Monday through
Thursday
6:00 am Friday, Sat. and Sun.
Powerbait or inflated nightcrawlers have proved to be the best baits.
