The Trout bite is steady in lakes 2, 3 and 4. Try rainbow powerbait and
nightcrawlers. Use a short leader 6 to 8 inches and 2 or 4 lb. test
line. Tagged fish are still swimming in the lakes worth cash and
prizes. Catch a Trout 5 lbs. or larger and get entered into the April
1st drawing for the Vizio Flat Screen TV.
The last Trout stock for the Season will arrive this week. 1,000 lbs.
of Sierra Rainbows will be split between lakes 3 and 4.

Lakes 2, 3 and 4 were stocked last week. 10,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout
has been stocked since November. Largest Trout so far this Season
weighed in at 10 lbs. 9 oz. 15 tags are still swimming in the lakes.
Rod and Reel combos, free camping trips, mongoose bicycle and CASH
prizes are waiting to be claimed.
Could you use a Vizio flat screen TV? Catch a Trout 5 lbs. or larger and
get entered into the April 1st drawing.
Santee Lakes is open for fishing everyday. 8:00 am Monday through
Thursday
6:00 am Friday, Sat. and Sun.
Powerbait or inflated nightcrawlers have proved to be the best baits.

 The Trout Re-Opener took place on Saturday with hundreds of anglers
lining the banks of lakes 3 and 4. Lakes 3 and 4 each received a stock
of 1,000 lbs. of Sierra Rainbows along with HUGE Trophy Trout and 30
Tagged Trout worth CASH and prizes. The anglers who caught the 2
largest Trout on Saturday walked away with an IPod Touch. Only 8 of the
30 Tagged Trout have been caught so bring out your umbrellas and shade
canopies and maybe you can claim some of these prizes. Santee Lakes is
open daily rain or shine.

 Saturday, January 16th is the Trout Re-Opener. 2,000 lbs. of Trout will
be split between lakes 3 and 4. Tagged Trout and huge Trout will also
be added. The 2 largest Trout caught on the 16th will win an IPod
Touch. Gates open at 6 am and our Lakes permit is required.
