The Aim Marine Sunday Series is the only team tournament series in San Diego to run tournaments on Sunday. But thats not the only difference between this series and the others.
The Sunday Series offers incentives for anglers to pair up with partners they otherwise may not fish with. There are seperate prize pools for teams made up of an adult and child, and also for man and woman teams.
This series also features a very competitive payback, which is guaranteed. New for 2008, teams will also be fishing for year-end Aim Marine gift certificates awarded to the top 5 overall teams in the points. The Anglers of the Year will receive a $5,000 gift certificate to spend at Aim Marine!

The dominant father/son team of John and Jordan Kerr had a 19 point lead heading into Sunday's (June 15th, 2008) final event at Lake Hodges to win their second consecutive Aim Marine Sunday Series Angler of the Year title. With 25 teams entered, they only needed to "lay-up" to secure the title. They left no questions at the end of the day as to who the top team is in the Sunday Series. Removing all the drama from the title race, John and Jordan weighed in 15.28 pounds anchored by a 6.10 pound kicker fish. That bag of fish earned them big fish of the tournament, first place, and the Angler of the Year Title.

Mike Long won his second consecutive Aim Marine Sunday Series
tournament, and his sixth out of the last seven overall team
tournaments. Long caught 15.11 pounds of fish, anchored by the largest
bass of the tournament at 4.55 pounds to take the top spot. The
majority of his fish were caught sight fishing a small minnow profile
swimbait made by Kamakazee Bait Company in the handicap cove of Lower
Otay.

John and Jordan Kerr demolished the Aim Marine Sunday Series field with 21.28 pounds, anchored by the largest bass of the tournament, a beautiful 10.41 pound female. That one fish was enough to beat all but 1 other team. Mike Long, fishing solo, was second with 12.61 pounds. Both of these teams caught their fish by sight-fishing them in shallow water. Spotty rain flurries made sight-fishing difficult for most teams, but there is no one better in San Diego than John Kerr.
