The National Bass West anglers concluded their season series at Lake Hodges on May 3rd. Mike Long, with the aid of Todd Holverson won his fifth straight San Diego team tournament. His current stretch of wins is probably one of the most impressive feats in San Diego team tournament history. Mike and Todd had a 5 fish limit weighing 19.70 pounds with the big fish of the tournament at 6.76 pounds to win and earn $3,950.

Lynne Peterson of National Bass West has announced that they will waive membership fees for new teams that wish to fish their season finale at Hodges on May 3rd, 2008.
John and Jordan Kerr lead Kevin Norling and Larry Wilson by 19 points heading in the points standings heading into the final tournament. It will take a very strong finish from Kevin and Larry, and uncharacteristically poor finish from John and Jordan to keep the Kerrs from winning the Angler of the Year title.

John and Jordan Kerr won for the second straight week at Lower Otay, this time on Saturday's National Bass West team event. John and Jordan didn't have quite as much weight as in last week's Aim Marine Sunday Series event, and the margin of victory was not nearly as large, but they still managed to take the win.

John Fiehler and Rod Blunt brought in the largest limit, anchored by the largest bass to win the National Bass West tournament at El Capitan on February 2nd (2008). Their winning bag of 18.91 pounds was more than 2 pounds better than the second place team of Bob Palashewski and Roger Gordon. Rod caught the big bass of the tournament (weighing 9.26 pounds) in the recently flooded brush in the North End of the lake.

Long time San Diego team tournament angler, Keith Gunsauls returned to his old stomping grounds to assist his long-time partner Allen Tatum in capturing yet another tournament win. Keith recently moved east, and now resides in Texas but obviously has not lost his touch for mastering San Diego City Lakes. Allen and Keith had over 15 pounds, anchored by a 5 pound kicker to best the field Saturday.

Mike and Dave Parkes blew away the competition in National Bass West's opening tournament for the 2007/2008 season. Despite not even having the tournament's biggest bass (they did have the third largest), they won in convincing fashion, by nearly 4 pounds.

Randy Field and Brian Johnson bested a field of 51 anglers at San Vicente Reservoir on Saturday December 8th in the second National Bass West tournament of the season. Randy and Brian brought in 14.95 pounds with a 4.74 pound kicker largemouth, edging John and Jordan Kerr who had 13.28 pounds. They earned $4,045 for first place, and climbed into the lead for the Angler of the Year crown after two events. Click the read more link for the full results.
