Teams fished all summer long in the El Cajon Ford Night Tournament Series for the chance to win a fishing vacation at the famed Lake El Salto in Mainland Mexico. The top three teams in the year-end points standings qualified, supplemented with three raffle winning teams from the series. Tournament Director Jim Sleight scheduled the trip for November 12th through the 16th, providing the teams time to secure travel documents and make arrangements for the time-off to make the trip.

Trevor Lincoln and William Larson followed up their second place finish in the June 7th event at Otay with a win in the series' finale Saturday night. Their three fish limit totaling 14.42 pounds was good enough to beat the second place team by a little over a half a pound.

The El Cajon Ford San Diego Team Night Series will conclude its 2009 series this Saturday Night at Lower Otay. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held at Hodges, but with the water level threatening to make the lake unavailable, it was announced earlier that the tournament would be moved to Lower Otay. Lower Otay has already played host to two of the previous five tournaments in the series. The first of two was won by Michael McLernon and Nick Adkins, and the second by Keith Soria and David Hokins.

Prior to the safety meeting at the August 15th tournament at El Capitan, Jim Sleight touched again on the details of the drawing to be held at the final tournament. Each team that has fished at least 5 of the 6 total tournaments will receive a ticket when the sign up at the final tournament on September 12th at Lower Otay.
