It's hard to say if Lake Hodges has come back completely to fish the
way it use to, but based on the results from last Saturday's WON Team
tournament, if it hasn't, it's sure getting close.

44 Teams blasted off Saturday morning at Lake Otay and found fishing to
be better than expected, While 43 of the teams were fishing for the
cash, one fisherman, fishing by himself hit the "Mother Load". Mike
Long fishing alone with swimbaits and reaction baits brought to the
scales a 5 fish limit that weighed in at 25.93lbs. Mike also hauled in
the big fish of the tournament with a 13.20lb lunker. Here's how the
top teams did at Lake Otay on Saturday.

Cameron Smith and Brett Woodward topped the 39 team WON Bass field on December 6th at El Capitan. Cameron and Brett reported catching their 17.40 pound limit on a mix of worms, cranks, and bubba rigs on a small stretch of shoreline in El Cap's North End. Their winning bag was anchored by the second largest fish of the tournament at 4.92 pounds. Cameron and Brett walked away with $3,115 for their efforts on Saturday.

We had 47 teams fish El Capitan for the first WON Team Tournament in
San Diego for the 2008/2009 season. Here's how the top 5 finished.
Fishing was tough for most of the field with fish coming here and there
on this and that. Strangely enough, teams going out at the end of the
pack seemed to do pretty well. The first place team had only 2 fish at
3pm with a 3:30 weigh-in staring them in the face!
