Larry Thomas and Mike Golubski beat a field of 34 other teams in the San Diego Team Night Series event at El Capitan over the weekend thanks to one of the largest tournament-caught bass to come out of the reservoir. Larry Thomas reported catching the 11.69 pound behemoth on a jig (read this article for more on the jig's knack for catching the kickers). That fish alone would have been enough to put them in second place in the tournament, but Golubski and Thomas complemented that fish by filling out their 3 fish limit for a total of 16.76 pounds to comfortably win by over 4 pounds to claim the $1,500 check.
