  • The San Diego, one of Seaforth Sportfishing’s 3/4 day boats posted some impressive tuna numbers on their trip today.

The boat was being run today by Captain Taro Takeuchi, who sent in a midday report to primary skipper Ryan Bostian, which he posted to Instagram.

At the end of the day, the 46 anglers tallied 37 yellowfin tuna, 24 yellowtail and a single dorado.

The San Diego had been posting huge yellowtail counts at the Coronado Islands over the last month, but as we noted last week, that bite took a dive at the Islands.

So Bostian pointed his operation’s focus to the tuna available offshore in US waters, allowing anglers without passports to get in on the productive fishing the San Diego is known for. And it didn’t take them long to start posting eye-popping fish counts.

Their trip on July 16th, just 3 days after announcing they would be focusing on US waters saw 42 anglers land 32 yellowfin and 30 yellowtail.

As indicated in Bostian’s Instagram post, they’re going fishing again tomorrow and have some available reservations as of right now.
