Embarcadero Pier Fishing
The Embarcadero Park Pier is a small t-shaped public fishing pier located in the Embarcadero Marina Park South on San Diego Bay in downtown San Diego, right next to the Convention Center.
While small, the pier does allow anglers to access deeper water than they would be able to by standing on the adjacent rocks. And, like other public fishing piers, California Sport Fishing Licenses are not required while fishing from the pier.
The pier attracts small baitfish to school at the pilings, and draws in predators. Typically, spotted bay bass are the primary target here, but all of the usual San Diego Bay “suspects” are present.
A concession stand is available at the foot of the pier, selling snacks, refreshments, and some very basic fishing tackle.
The Embarcadero Marina Park South is open daily from 6 am to 10:30 pm. It is closed periodically for large events.
You can find the Embarcadero Park Pier at 200 Marina Park Way, San Diego, CA.
Parking is available in the adjacent metered lot. Restrooms are available at the concession. A small fish cleaning station is found on the pier itself.
