Alabama rigs yielding lots of fish on San Diego Bay

The spotted bay bass were on the chew big time this morning, January 18th on San Diego Bay, with some nice sand bass in the mix as well. The weather is summer-like out here with big tides. We are catching a lot of fish on the alabama rig, as well as the Gulp baits on 1/2 ounce lead heads in basically any color.

  • We’ve rigged the alabama rigs with 1/2 ounce heads and 3-5″ swimbaits in brown and green colors and targeting 45-50′ water on channel ledges. We’ve had more than a few doubles (2 fish) on the same bait, same cast. If you have kids or family, now is the time to come out and enjoy a low-priced bay fishing trip.
