Hit the beach this morning, fished 7-10:30am, high tide near 7ft at 10:10. Conditiona were good on the incoming until about 9, when the waves got gnarly. The power of the ocean was on full display. It got hard to work the luckycraft flash minnow I threw all morning. After high tide, the salad came on strong were it was almost totally absent on the incoming. Landed 3 barred surf perch, including one slab at 12.5".
Then the lady took me lure shopping at Anglers Choice, went home with an electric grunion and Jack smelt pattern flash minnow, some owner trebles and a spool of 80# braid. Frying up a nice batch of fish tacos to end the evening. Tight lines

Nice catches! Which beach was it? Because I'm not really sure which one to go to if I go perch fishing. I heard Torrey Pines And LJ where good?

Ocean Beach. Any sandy beach will be likely to have BSP. I fished rocky beaches for most of the last 2 years and never caught a BSP, now I've been fishing a sandy beach regularly and it's BSP everyday. Mainly looking for halibut with some success

Hahaha no. The 80# braid is for backing on a pair of 4/0 senators. I've been running 30# braid to 15# mono for throwing the flash minnows on the beach.

That probably won't last for too long lol.

Hit a rocky beach spot at sundown tonight...not much going on. A rock wrasse and a lobster
