On two recent trips(kayak/boat) to Murray that I did not post before today, I caught 3 small bass(blade, spoon and Tokyo rig). then the next trip only 2 dinks(drop shot M.M) and then there was today(kayak). Beautiful day with unusual very warm weather and it's the second week of January. I would like to tell you that thanks to the amazing weather, the bass were biting like crazy, but I would be lying to you. I had a bass on a spoon that lasted about 4 seconds or so and he came unbuttoned...........but escaped the dreaded skunk after lots of work to finally land one bass on a worm.
That's it folks! Beautiful day, lousy fishing.

So on 3 trips it was 3 fish , 2 fish and 1 fish today.....hopefully I can start going back up
or do I have to get skunked to reach rock bottom and then go up?.........
Lots of pressure on my next trip.....ha ha. :)
Oh yeah....The highlight other then not getting skunked, was having fun
talking and kidding around with Egorham.

The weather was hot and I felt like I was fishing in late June and worked my baits faster than normal....too bad the bass needed a very very slow presentation.......ha ha

It's amazing how different all the lakes are right now! San V bass think it's April, Murray bass forgot where they're suppose to be in January, and El Cap fish wonder why the lake isn't stained now with all the rain runoff they normally see this month! Strange start to 2021! Rain the end of next week, might straighten everything out!

It was nice chatting again VinnyBass ! For some reason it seemed like the fish were deeper, not shallower, even with the hot weather.

I kinda sucked yesterday. Landed two bass, had another throw the hook when it jumped, and missed a few good bites. They always bit when I was fumbling with my water bottle/sandwich/tackle or something and caught me off guard. Oh well, we'll get em next time.

The weather is awesome. I do enjoy feeling the bite as well as my fingers. Nice picture there Mr. VinnyBass. I'm have no doubt he will be one of your many 6 plus monsters you'll be pulling in in the future :emoji_relaxed:, train them while they're young.

I can guarantee a fish as soon as I pull out my sandwich! I think when the fish sees you eating, it stimulates it's salva glands...and starts the feeding frenzy! That's my scientific theory...yeah, that's it!
