It was 10 something and I was messing around in my garage with a pretty bad headache. As minutes were rolling by, I kept thinking to myself when will I fish again? I have business to take care of tomorrow and dang there israin is the way. Well... I have survived headaches before and just decided I wanted to fish. I put my "Just Do It" Nike shirt and quickly headed over to Murray(after a 4 block return to my house to get my boat keys laying on the washing machine).
In my last report I mentioned that on 3 recent trips I went from 3 to 2 to only 1 bass on my last trip to Murray. Hoping I could bounce back, yet still a little fearful of maybe getting skunked as a few buddies told me it has not been too good.
Anyway...fished deep and tried blade baits and spoons and no takers in the deep. Then just for a little bit hit a few tulles and then just went off a point and threw plastic worms and finally someone banged it and I set the hook on nothing. To keep this short(I know mcfish is laughing) I managed not to get skunked, and finally landed one after having a dink come off right near the boat.
It weighed 3 1/2 lbs(always better than a dink) and at least I got out on the water for a few hours and another highlight was my headache went away. Hopefully my next trip will get me back on the right track going up in totals.. or actually just getting back on the water again would be fine...ha ha. :)

That is a quality fish...glad you were able to alleviate the headache. It's a good thing your not to far from the lake. I left my keys at home once....I now keep an extra set in the glove box of my Tahoe so I will not experience that faux pas again.

I am getting one of these from Amazon. They even will imprint "VB" on it so people can identify me
better when I am at Murray. :)

Vinnys' one is probably bigger the my last three put together. Fish like that should keep his upper body toned now that he has earned a well deserved retirement. He just needs to watch for the signs of carpal tunnel (all day on tackle warehouse will wear out the index finger and wrist).

I like the viewing window....if you wore floaties and left your yak at home it might work just like a diving mask. You wouldn't need a fish finder you'll be able to see them. I'm also thinking that since you do have the two rod endorsement you could tie a tokyo rig to each foot and have a field day.

Fishing is good for what ails you! Catching 3 pounders is good also, though catching 6 pounders is better... or so I'm told! ;)

Edit: VinnyBass , how will you cast in that get-up?

I will confer with mcfish on how he does it. I believe he uses a homemade boat cannon.

Got rid of your headache, AND, caught a nice bass. So glad we're getting rain. Our lakes are so low right now.
Tight lines Vinny, see you out there soon!

We do need the rain and hope it helps fill up the lakes a little. Has anyone seen Sutherland’s water level? I wonder if it is really low or is it about the same? fisheromen? RamonaAngler? mcfish?

I haven't been by there yet this year to check the levels. Hoping we get more and more rain before they open in March.
