Wasn’t gonna post because it was a pretty quick session but I figured why not. A buddy and I had an hour to spare after a friend’s birthday party so we hit some docks for a few casts. Nothing but a bunch of dinks between the both of us and a YFC my friend caught until I hooked into this drag ripper. Almost nicked me off on the underside of one of the boats. Caught on the black widow 3” big hammer. I have too many 3” tails I never use so I’m forcing myself to go through all of them before I buy more. I’ve always liked the black widow but once this last one gets too shredded up it’s gonna be time to break out the real “dud colors.” Tight lines

I dont throw swimbaits as much as i used to but thats all i used to use. I was digging around in some "stuff" and found a handfull. Have to put them back in the bag if they're gonna catch hogs like that. Well done

Here’s what I have left. Cant say they’re “duds” so much as colors I haven’t had as much confidence in, ones I haven’t used, or old tails that have lost their color. Some actually look like they’d be really effective, like the copper colored shrimp I got from some random tackle shop in AK.

I haven’t found a jighead that fits the shrimp well. I think I’ll use a dropshot for them.

And yeah, caught some good fish on that color but never been much of a fan of them. Never been too sure how exactly to fish them other than letting them fall or twitching them.

Dropshot a gulp shrimp. I caught three spotties three halis and a calico off the pier doing that last year in the same day. Also caught my fair share of spotties in the bays with that rig.

With a black marker they could all be black widows if you are only fishing at night.
