A couple of recent Miramar reports caught my eye recently and and even though I knew I might catch only dinks(Miramar is full of them), I headed up there this morning with my kayak. Needed a change of venue from Murray mostly. Worked plastic worms in shallow water and missed my first opportunity. Shortly after that I fished deeper(20'-25' roughly) got bit and got the skunk off my back pretty quickly. I am not going to bore you but I started catching bass mostly in that depth or just outside the main weed line. I fished off points and just around the corner from a few points. The weeds are pretty thick in places and often I let the bass run too long and missed hook sets on at least a half a dozen on this trip. I used lightly weighted purple worms and drop shotted M.M. worms for all of my bass today. I ended up with 9 bass....nothing too big and most as expected were clones(9th bass came on the west side of of the pier near the ramp when I was coming in....small but still counted...ha ha). Overall, I had a pretty fun morning at Miramar and even though I was hoping each bass was not a clone, it is still better to catch bass no matter what size, than not catch them. :).
And also this morning, I had the honor to meet fellow SDFish member Winstondry, who was heading down to worm the shoreline west of the dock. Hope he caught some fat ones!

    Most were clones like these:

Nice. I really like Miramar. It can be fickle but once you get it figured out you can always catch a few.

Hey Vinny, it was great meeting another SDFish celebrity other than Otay michael! Oh wait, I’ve had the honor of meeting Werfless too!

I ended up with six fish, with the first two being the biggest, probably 1.5-2lbs, others weren’t quite dinks, may even have measured if I were in a tourney situation. Great weather out there, I had to redeem myself after the abuse Hodges put on us yesterday.

Have you been catching any nice bass at Murray lately? Every time I go I search for topwater, but end up worming pretty quickly. Your advice to work worms slowly is so true. I am using so hyper working worms like a jerk bait at times...ha ha
Anyway...I need to run around the parking lot a few times before fishing Murray again so I can be tired and work worms
    slowly. :)
    Tight lines always

Ha! You are a funny guy Vinny. I hope to see you and fish with you at Murray. We both could benefit from it. To answer your question, nothing to Wright home about. In the last month only fished it 3 times. Nothing larger than 4#. Fall pattern is in full swing. I have been busy modifying a pontoon boat. Here is a pic. 20191011_133418.jpg
Took it out today for the first time. Keep an eye out for me at Murray. Might go tomorrow afternoon.

I’m convinced vinny could catch a 6 pound bass in the balboa park koi pond with yarn, a lottery ticket, and a triple a battery..

I use the top part of a old guitar stand which I mount an Otter Box iPhone holder to it and simply snap my
iPhone in place. The mount is actually to be used on your belt, but I put it on to top of the guitar stand.
Sissies buy selfie sticks.....I am totally just kidding as real men can afford selfie sticks and I found a cheaper way.
    :)

Not at all......I am not MacGyver....ha ha.
I am lucky to be blessed with a weird sense of humor that I try to use here and there when I write things on SDFish. I love when someone can make me bust out loud with laugher on things they say. Your comments did the job when I read what you wrote. My girlfriend even came into the room to see what was so funny! :)

Holy macGiver! I'm now dying to be on lake Vinmurray when you catch and capture a photo with your guitar stand selfie stick of those beautiful bass. I guess the guitar stand is a hold back from the 70s when you were the Leed guitarist in a rock band. I can see you as a rock star !! Lol
