Sick of my posts yet? Stoked on another good session and gotta share with the homies.
Hit the beach again tonight fly rod in hand at 4 o'clock for the dead low tide. Frustrating to begin, pounded sand up and down shore for 2.5 hours, missed on 3 bites that quickly came unbuttoned. As the sun was setting and my stomach was grumbling, i was about ready to head home and started walking to the car. but something told me this promising stretch of sand had to yield a fish. Started pulling line off the fly reel and went back to work. As the sun dipped below the horizon, bite turned on and fish on. First ever zebra perch for me, it was a solid size fish and fought like a mule. A few minutes later, yellowfin croaker. The moon began to rise as darkness fell, landed another yellowfin croaker which I almost botched and walked him into a kelp ball at shore. Then a spotted bay bass ate the streamer. Pretty damn entertaining 20 minute stretch before it was pitch black and the leak in my waders was getting chilly.
Glad i stuck it out, had a blast!
    When in doubt, keep fishing.
Something about feeling the fish pull line outta my hand as I'm stripping has me hooked.

Nice. You could always tie on a 2nd fly for some extra fun.

Thank you sir. I've learned alot the past 6 months, still need some work on technique but I'm catching fish and having a blast. When I'm not finding the fish I concentrate on form and getting tight loops ect. When the bite is on, it's whip it and strip it lol

When wading in I put my phone in a waterproof case. Lost a few phones to the surf before. Downside is it makes my pictures look crappier lol

Tried my damndest last couple days for report worthy outing or even a single fish. Skunko! Surf and estuary areas were a complete mess. Like an idiot went out monday based on prior great outings in the rain...miserable defeat. Crazy wind, high surf, ripping currents, muddy runoff water with like 6 inches visibility. It ain't all sunshine and rainbows hahahah. Funny how fishing works...have a couple good outings and then get humbled. Definite change of plans far away from the surf tomorrow
