Put on my favorite fishing hat in hopes of a great day at Murray. I arrived and it was slightly foggy and overcast. Tossed some hard topwater baits for a bit and later threw a fluke and blew it two times when bass rolled on it and I pulled back too quick. Then went to worming and pulled a micro bass in on a M.M next to the tulles. Later in deeper water after experimenting with different worms, I finally got bit in 21’ of water and pulled in about a 2lb. bass on a black worm. About an hour later I threw a creature bait in about the same depth and picked up a nicer bass that was just a tad under 4lbs. It was a nice fight and that was fun! Worked that area with no other bites and just before I left, caught another micro bass on a drop shot with a M.M. in about 12’ of water. Not a great day by any means, but at least one healthy bass.

I should have but I didn’t spend much time near the tulles after I caught that little dink.
I alway end up in open water throwing surface baits looking for breaking bass. I do appreciate the tip and will have to try it another time. :)
    Thanks Mr. Jennings

I fished a local kayak tournament at murray on saturday and did well with a crankbait early. I wasted too much time trying to grab a small limit on the stupid dropshot. They were aggressive. Was getting them in 6-10ft along sand/rocky shoreline. This 18” was the best fish.

NIce job!!!! I was wondering how that tournament went. Sounds like it would be fun.
I hope I can get some Saturdays off next year and participate in one. I may be following you around a lot..... :)

Yeah I can keep you updated on the 2019 schedule. We have one last kayak get together this year Sunday Nov 4th at San V. You're welcome to join. I'm just happy to see the bite starting to improve. It was a tough year at Murray this year.

Took my kayak over for a few hours for some trick or treat action on Halloween morning.
Bad news: 2 bass came off after they shook off a worm and spoon on the jump.
Good news: Did catch one on a spoon, one on a ned rig and a micro bass(not photo worthy) on a drop shot with a MM.
(NO costume, but did wear a halloween colored shirt for the occasion...ha ha)
