I think we had days Kevin that if we didn't sore or tired we could have done it. I know we have hit 25 each an hour on multiple occasions.

We have all fished both bays and had stellar days. Last year when the bait fish started showing up we were clearing 30-50 SBB a piece in a 3-4 hour session at mission bay. You could toss a bare hook in the water and catch a fish. I agree 100 is a lot and for $250??? The guy with the bet is winning either ways. Like you said, getting to be out on a boat, see all the hot spots, tackle and gear used is worth a lot more. Especially if the guy is looking to enter tournaments. If is is a scam, its a good one. Funny story! Thanks!

So would springtime in SD bay be the best time for numbers? Currently it's hit or miss. Would imagine a boat would be required. Any gander for what the challenge should be for a shore bound angler?

I've only met one guy who had multiple 100+ fish outings from shore, all the areas he frequented are now no fishing spots along the embarcadero. It can still be done if you fish all day long and have non stop action ;)

I have personally caught over 100 from shore. It's totally possibly. I fished like 8 or 9 hours along n harbor drive, ended up with 103 bass (spot, sand and calico) 1 croaker and a short halibut. Most bass were small. Everything was on plastics, mostly 3 inch swimbaits. I know a few other guys who have broke the century mark as well. It happens. Never heard of the reward thing though

That would be amazing..... Guess the embarcadero is the ticket if you can fish it without getting in trouble....

Ask @GutHooKeD yourself if they were just multiple 20 fish sessions ;)

To clarify, I broke the 100 mark one time. Closest I ever got to doing it again was in the 80s, a few trips in the 70s. @Charles , you can choose to believe me or not. I'm not gonna loose a any sleep over it.

Pretty sure I've caught over 50 between all the basses in just a couple hours with the cane pole.. fairly certain that a guy or two could do 100 in a day NO ISSUE without restrictions.. the real issue with this guys challenge is all the rules in ADDITION TO the ones by dfg.. I could catch 100 calico with just the cane pole in one solar day no problem on the jetties...

Seems like we are having issues with the phrase, "Seems like 20 fish caught multiple times." The number "100" is not in question as to quantity, but as to them being 100 different fish, especially from shore. Hopefully, that is clear enough. So the phrase means there were some fish that were caught more than once during that session. It did not say, "Seems like 20 fish caught multiple sessions." which is an altogether different idea.
