I don’t really eat a lot of fish more of a CPR guy so heres my valley report. Bait (chunk carp) was easy to come by Thursday afternoon. Made my way to an out of the way Spot on the Alamo to set up camp for the night. Chilly and bite were few but I did manage a couple up to 15 lbs. Thursday the bite was on you just had to travel a lot and fish the holes. I had a dozen flat up to 12-15lbs buy the time my buddy made it out. We were on a mission to get his PB so we had to break 27lbs. We hit a good spot that produced a good 18liber and then it was pretty slow. Had a good group both local and San Diego guys show up for the evening, lots of cold beer and adult drinks with a few more small flats. Sat morning everyone spread out, I had a spot in mind that hasn’t produced but just screams big flat. Turned out good for Johnny with a new PB at 42.10! Did a lot of traveling visiting some old spots but only managed a few more small Flats. Great time with some great company and perfect weather.

I looked up the Alamo River and noticed it runs out of the Salton Sea. Is it as polluted as the New River?

Runs into it and is not as bad as the New. Still icky water though. Lots of field runoff in it.

Closer to the border it is smaller and can't be reached you need to got closer to the SS to find access.

I had to swim in the Alamo before to get a cat that was hung up , no way I'm swimming in the new river. I would pay $$$ to see someone noodle the Alamo.

I couldn’t even imagine going into those rivers. Who knows what you will find sticking your hand in that brush, guaranteed bodies in there’s with who knows what else,
My buddy is a sheriff and they had to investigate cars in the all American when they diverted for construction. One care had 4 skeletons in the trunk and a bass stuck in the air conditioning vents

It actually is running North into the sea. The only Two rivers in North America that run north are the New River and the Alamo.
