Got to the 226 around 8:00. I got a 15 pounder on my first bait. My buddy farmed one, landed one. We moved on. Heard a few different numbers called out on the radio and checked out one of them. Wide open yft fishing from here. Mexican limits by 11:30 for 3, with most fish being 25# - 30# and a couple that were between 35# - 40#. They bit sardines on 30# mono and colt snipers on 40#. Several times we raced a couple of gigantic sea lions, very surprised to see them so far from land. Left them biting and hearing numbers over the radio left n right. We stopped on a couple of paddies heading in for nothin.

Always amazes me to see them so far out. One nipped my buddy's fish's tail and that was (luckily) all of the damage. No need to fish 20# and finesse the fish, yes you'll get bites but if the dog's around you need to power that fish in efficiently.
