That's crazy, man. Have you ever done DMT?
Just drop some LSD, oldie but goodie.
Certain jobs have factors that the business owner will not allow the chance of people being high on the job. Medical needs or not how do I trust your THC positive isn't from medical pot and stoner status.
All of us old guys were young one too. Weed isn't new.
If you have certain medical conditions you may never get somethin like a commercial drivers license.
My job required me to have a class A license. The company didn't test us, but someone from the state would. Names were picked at random, so you never knew when you would have to be tested.
If you came up positive you could show a medical prescription and be ok.
Your probably to young to remember this but people would lick the skin of a certain toad and get high from the chemical reaction.
Here's my generation, groovy man. LOL
Just like everything there are different view points.
Larry, is that you in the middle?
Pretty close. I have a picture of me from 1971 with a jack crevalle that I can't find. Black beard and long black curly hair.
I understand that but always wonder what the difference is between having a few puffs of a joint after work vs. a couple beers. Especially since it's a lot easier for alcohol to ruin someone's life than weed. If I "partake" at night and go to bed at a reasonable time I'm always good to go the next morning; even the case over the summer when I was having to get up at 4:30-6am every day.
Something I have always maintained. Statistically, all drugs combined have not caused the amount of human suffering as alcohol. Yet, we as a society remain enamored with it. That is all I got to say about that.
On a serious note here, my wife's three brothers all died from addictions.
Her younger brother started with weed in middle school, died in his late twenties.
Drug use cause him to bleed out internally.
Middle one died from cigarettes, lung cancer. In his late 30's.
Older one alcoholism, mid 40's.
Not to preach here, but if you start to think that something is starting to control you get help.
People think that it can't happen to them, but things have a way of sneaking up on you.
I've seen it happen with quite a few people in my age group, especially with vaping (nicotine not weed). I remember 5 years ago people made fun of the "vape nation" guys but now it seems like everyone does it. Although there's no way they're as bad for you as cigs the extremely high nicotine concentrations alone are pretty unhealthy. I had a problem with it for awhile until early January when I realized I needed to seriously stop. It was getting to the point where I needed to hit my juul first thing in the morning and carry it in my back pocket to keep me going through the day. I'd even wake up in the middle of the night and need to hit it to fall back asleep. Lots of my friends are way worse.
worsens erection quality too...or so they say
I'm no angel, when in the Navy on a NATO shore duty base, mix drinks were 50 cents, in 1964. While going to a Navy school in 1963 the enlisted men's club had beer and hamburgers.
Didn't drink at all when I had sea duty, not even on liberty call. Now only have a few beers a year, no hard stuff.
Ever see the South Park Episode on vaping lol.
I hear ya Larry... At age 18 the Navy was an eye-opening experience alcohol wise. The "culture" at the time promoted it with no apologies. The enlisted club on base, (Norfolk, VA) had huge crowds getting wrecked any night of the week. No "carding" occurred. Port calls overseas were even worse... I forget what it was called, but the Navy had this deal when you returned from a cruise you could fill out an order form and buy booze at a discount with no taxes while still in international waters. Saw some crazy stuff... I imagine it's not like that anymore though -- hopefully.
Duty free when out of US waters. They would announce that the ship's store was open when that happened.
I bought a Zodiac diving watch then.
When we would come back to port in Norfolk customs would board the ship and ask if we bought anything while in a foreign port. They would check the berthing areas. They didn't really look that hard. Probably just did it to say that they did it.
Am I seriously the only one here who does absolutely nothing. I mean cigs were about 3 seconds but besides that....
Pretty much. I was a drunken ******* in my past
