Yeah Real BAD......Had 3 base runner on 3 hits. 1 of the hits the pitcher Roach got. I't got too get better. Oh and Tim Hudson tonight. WE did beat him last time.
Whats the chance of beating him twice...........

Plantier needs to bounce. I like the dude, but this kind of hitting is more than just a lake of premier talent. These are all major league players, most of them have produced at one time or another in their big league careers. Something is wrong; approach, mechanics, confidence, scouting...something, probably all of it.

    They need change.

I agree, unless the boys start hitting I don't think Planter going to last much longer........

Could you imagine if a guy with 54 RBIs led a team in RBIs at the end of a year? lol.[/quote]

Doh!!! He lead the team with 63 last year......

Damn, you're right. Thats incredible. To put that in perspective, the fewest RBIs to lead a team from 1988 to 2007, so 20 seasons, was 62 by the 2007 KC Royals. Apparently that season led some researches to actually compile those stats. I couldn't find anything that included the most recent 7 seasons.

San Diego appeared at #6 on that list, with their 1988 team being led by Tony Gwynn with only 70 RBIs.

So, pretty safe to safe this current team is the absolutely worst run producing team in the history of the San Diego Padres. Exciting times to be a fan ;).

Yeah I got to go with the Pads pitching. Cash is due tonight...... Where the Hell is Kyle Blanks. Oh yeah is still in El Paso. 7HR, 16 RBI, .372 OBP. I know it's the PCL........ But It would not hurt the team to have him in the line up. In his 705 AB he has 28 HR in the bigs.......

Pitching is the only thing keeping us alive. I really feel bad for our starting rotation. These guys would have some really nice records if they were on some other clubs. :( Greg Maddux is sitting in a recliner somewhere smirking...

I didn't see the game two nights ago, how did they win on a walk off fielders choice? Why would a fielder choose to lose? Or did they just fail to turn a double play or something?

Actually....Maybin was on 3rd with the infield drawn in and Alonso hit a 3-hopper to Goldschmidt at 1st but Maybin easily beat the throw. Nice to have some speed back on the bases!

Weird, I saw it on the ESPN clicker at the bottom saying "Padres win on walk-off fielders choice" so I was curious how that went down. But thats definitely not a fielders choice, just an infield single.

Nope, fielder's choice because Goldschmidt threw home instead of getting the out at 1st (obviously wouldn't do that).

Kind of like last night. Venable hit the ball to the gap in right center and it bounced over the fence. Ground-rule double right? Nope, they mobbed him before he ever touched 2nd base so it was a walk-off single.

Yeah, you're right. I was stuck on thinking of it in a traditional sense of actually recording an out.
