Of course they show up the night I don't go. Apparently the one grunion we caught and released the previous night (Carl) gave a glowing yelp review to his friends.

    Congrats on the haul.

So, there's always a back story.....after catching the 254 sex crazed Grunion I decide to dump the jizzy eggs and spermy water in two strategic locations on the beach......after all, I wanted my captives to feel like they accomplished their goal and purpose for being there.....I refreshed their water twice thinking that they'd be alive after our short trip to the "Halibut-Honey Hole" but what I didn't realize, is that 254 exhausted post coital Grunion in an Orange Home Depot bucket 1/4 filled with sand, would use up their oxygen in less than 5 minutes.

So I'm disappointed, I have a mass grave site. Not one survivor in captivity. So I ask @Paulito if Hali's will still eat a dead Grunion. He affirms to me that Dead or Alive, Grunion are Grunny-candy bait. So I'm flylining a dead Grunny, hoping for the best, wondering why I'm flylining a dead Grunny. @Paulito 's roomate starts telling me how after they got to the spot, that they refreshed the water and they came back to life. 30 or so minutes later and after @Paulito and his roommate hook up, I ask for a live one....to my retardedness and owing to the fact that I'm still learning as a Padawan, it hits me, why @Paulito has "live Grunion." I missed the lesson and why he departed "Sex Beach" so quickly.......he only grabbed like 20 Grunion in like 5 minutes and bailed.....Leaving me and @ScubaLee03 to pick up 200 more alone....

So, the moral of the story......define your mission for Grunion Hunting. Is it to fill a Bait Freezer and to feed the world or to use as live bait somewhere? Both require more thought and equipment.

So, today I'm getting another bucket and an Aerator.....The end.....

I should have been there. I have multiple aerators in my trunk, which would have kept your bait alive.

See sections 27.70 through 28.62 for special bag limits, minimum size limits and poundage restrictions for certain species that apply in addition to the general bag limit. (b) There is no limit on the following species: anchovy, grunion, jacksmelt, topsmelt, Pacific butterfish (pompano), queenfish, sanddabs, skipjack, jack mackerel, Pacific mackerel, Pacific staghorn sculpin, round herring, Pacific herring, Pacific sardine, petrale sole and starry flounder

I don't think there is a limit but they said to only take what you are going to use.
