So thanks to the input of Fat Spottie I got a new reel that is suitable for cows. I am thinking of maybe doing a 3 day this year or next year. Questions are A)which boat, B) what time of year is best (fall?).

Topgun80... Queen is also a really good boat with a super fishy crew but more suitable to overnight and day and a half trips I think. For that longer trip I'd rather be on the top gun. You get more of a semi long range experience I think. The state rooms are very comfy and we'll kept, the food is top notch, and Bob Taft is one of the fishiest captains out there I think and so is Scotty.

New Loan all the way. Same price as all the other day boats and the crew is super well put together. The boat also sits super low to the water which is a huge plus.

kyle12345 Get a 770XXXH or 775XXXH. Or a RCE 76 Invictus. Let the rod do the work work for you with that reel and that heavy line.
