    An update on my road trip from virginia to home. right now i am in new orleans.
    here are my last few catches in georgia before i left.

    i then made the 7 hour drive down to new orleans, where i caught this beast earlier today.

    ended this day with about 85 pounds of fish; 3 big drum, a handful of catfish, and bluegill
    i am camping my way home. two nights just outside san antonio, a night in las cruces new mexico, and two nights in flagstaff. i will post an update on any fish i catch

    I bycatch a lot of drum in Missouri and never have seen me that big. Damn

    Drums must be closely related to Croaker. I wonder if they taste like Croaker?

    Was the Drum caught in an estuary water or fresh water ? Looks like the ones we used to get off the beach in Virginia and North Carolina . Nice Fish WR

    i believe it was an estuary. we caught freshwater catfish and bluegill, as well as saltwater sheepshead. the shrimp boats were also parked there so I wouldnt be surprised either way.

    What you caught were likely "Fresh Water Drum" this looks to be a salt water "Black drum"...
