Tomorrow 5/16/19 is FishNinja ’s 21st Birthday. Unfortunately there is a weather front coming in tomorrow so today had to be his birthday trip......

FishNinja got off work at 3pm and home by 3:30pm. I respooled 3 trollers and 2 jigsticks in preparation for our first LJK session of the year.

Launched Dana at 4:30pm......Trollers in the water by 5pm. Within 20 minutes we had two troll fish onboard....120 feet of water which was 65.4 degrees.

At 6:10pm we spotted a 25 yard wide moving disturbance with diving birds. We initially thought based upon the size that they were dolphins. However, we never saw any backs or fins......

We chucked a Mint Colored Kicker and immediately got hit. Also a mint colored Waxwing struck gold......We tried to find the school again. FishNinja was on the bow as he yelled that Yellows just streaked by on each side of the boat. I slowed down a bit and Bendo.....Yellowtail #5.

All in all we had a great 90 minute Birthday Session. Heard other boats had been trolling for two hours with no luck. I guess we had Birthday Boy Luck..... and, they were slow trolling Macks and Sardines.....We trolled our not so secret weapons.....

My freakin scale had a low battery so no official weight. However one was 20 lbs easy, the others were probably 12-15 lbs.

FYI - for what it’s worth.

Those Yellows were stuffed with Red Crab. That said FishNinja and I are wondering if we used “red crab” colored irons or Red Crab HUB if we could get a bite. We were happy with our catch so we didn’t test this hypothesis but, I’d give it a try.

I’ll try it next trip but if anyone wants to try it and report back..........

It's okay girl, us crippled old ones will get together one of these days and get the munch on straight from the BBQ! Till then, I congratulate Geo and his ninja crew on the excellent work..

Nice work Geofish! You are the "fish whisperer" my friend.

I've had the privilege of fishing with your son on multiple occasions. He's a fine man- respectful, honest, and courteous. It's pretty cool that on his 21st B-Day, he wanted to go fishing before he wanted to go drinking. And he wanted to spend time with his pops! You should be proud.

BTW- don't you know you can't catch YT trolling crank baits?
