went for a quick session after work throwing swimbaits and LC. Started throwing a pearl colored 4 inch swimbait around 6 pm. About 10 minutes in hooked into something big. there were not much head shakes etc, initially I thought it was snag or seaweed but the drag started screaming. Unfortunately I was using an inshore spinning reel (shimano stradic 5000) with 30 lb braid and 20 lb flouro leader and whatever hooked was not match for it. I thought I was gonna get spooled but managed to slow down after I basically maxed out the drag. However after about 45 minutes of struggle with little progress on gaining any ground, eventually the knot on the swimbait gave out and snapped. I did not have a chance to see the fish, but from the way it was behaving, I'm guessing it was either a big batray, shark or something similar. It was quite disheartening, I did not have any hopes of landing the fish but I wanted to see what it was, but it wasn't meant to be. I tied another color swimbait of the same size and kept for another 45 minutes or so and got my first corvina. It was a tiny one, probably 8 inches or so, which I promptly released after a quick photo. The lure in the photo is 4 inches for reference. 20210525_193346.jpg 20210525_193326.jpg

I only caught about 5 fish with it so far and they were fine. Usually they ended up getting hooked on only one of them
