First time to the big B this year and it was tough but fun. We did not even see any shad busters to tease us so we soon switched to the old reliable baby brush hog and the shad senko and pounded the stickups and brush. You definitely had to work for them as I only landed six and my buddy had seven. But the fish were fat and sassy with all of them about two to three pounds. No toads so no pics. I know the fish are gorging on shad but it's still a mystery to me why the fishing is not better. But a beautiful day with some cold brews and a few fish makes retirement even better.

We had a boat and left at noon. I got all of my fish in Hauser and did not get any after 9am as we went to Pine and the famous Barrett wind came up. My buddy did get two more nice ones in the cove to the left of Pigs.

That’s the thing with expectations. You knew what to expect as far as the fishing goes and it sounded like you still enjoyed your day. Thanks for the update!

What little action I had also died around 9. Once the wind kicked up I did very little fishing and just paddled around the lake to get the lay of the land and take in the sights. Looking forward to me next trip.

Coves in pine and by the “island” in the main lake. Looking for the m on my meter. Look for long stacked lines on the graph

There are some jumbos in there, the gills are repidiculously large too. I was catching them off crappie jigs with roadrunner lead head. Nice bass as by catch!

I never did cross you path out on the lake. You had launched by the time I got in the water and I didn't make pine or the island until around 930. I think I saw you crossing the lake as I was heading back across. Do you have a green Hobie?
